Adventures

SPECOPS Adventures, based out of Costa Rica, Hawaii, and Mexico, conduct fun, educational, and adrenaline-rush tours all over the globe.  While Costa Rica, Hawaii, and Mexico provide the incredible geographical diversity which leads the world in many adventure sports and activities such as white water rafting, surfing, mountain biking, SCUBA diving, and fishing, just to name a few, SPECOPS will go anywhere to provide the greatest adventures imaginable.

All SPECOPS adventures are designed and led by U.S. Special Operations veterans and expert local guides, each of whom possess a wealth of experience in the adventure and educational tourism industry.  Our seasoned staff use their diverse skills and knowledge to provide guests with the most unique and professionally organized vacations available.

SPECOPS is in the business of having fun as well as education, and we take our job very seriously.  Although some of our programs can fringe on extreme, we never lose sight of our professional goals and the safety of our clients.  We apply the same stringent planning methodologies for our adventures as we have done for the military during overseas operations and deployments for many years.  Each program is designed in exacting detail, accounting for all possible contingencies.  Every expedition we field is equipped with fully-stocked medical kits, navigation aids, and communications equipment suitable for use even in the dense jungles of the remote Osa Peninsula.

We offer two very different kinds of programs in all of our locations.  The first is Outdoor Skills and Survival courses, which include instruction in Wilderness First Aid, Map Reading and Land Navigation, Jungle Survival, backpacking/trekking instruction and more importantly, how to plan and prepare for remote location activities.

Although these are educational courses, we are very aware that our guests are on vacation and want to have fun!  Well, we do too.  With this in mind, you won't catch yourself sitting in the dirt for eight hours weaving a basket.  If it's boring to you, it’s boring to us.  We're not going to have you praying to the fire god or rubbing sticks together for hours at a time to make a fire, but we will provide practical knowledge which you'll have a good time learning.

What we do offer, are educational treks through some of the most beautiful parts of the world and a lot of fun along the way.  However, instead of blindly following a guide and learning about plants and butterflies, you depart with knowledge that will serve you well on any future remote location excursion in which you partake.  We currently offer Survival Camp in the Osa Peninsula, but are in the process of designing a diversity of other low-budget educational trips throughout the country.

Though we feature packages in Costa Rica, Hawaii, and Mexico, all of our high-action adventures are available in other locations.  SPECOPS specializes in customizing adventures for private groups.  Submit an Adventure REQUEST form to design your own adventure of a lifetime by choosing locations, activities, and classes that we offer.  Please keep in mind that this is only available to groups or individuals who don't mind absorbing the entire costs alone.

Generally, we are able to provide one activity per day and there is frequently travel time in between, so don't expect to participate in white water rafting, bungee jumping, SCUBA diving, mountain biking, and a Survival Trek on a three-day vacation.

When customizing your trip, please note that most all-inclusive action and adventure programs cost approximately $500 per day, per person; rates will vary based on clients' preference for a budget-oriented or rugged package versus a more upscale and/or luxury one.
